About

Yoga Grenoble Aurélie Chamaret Professeure .png

I came to yoga 15 years ago because of back problems. After a few interesting tries, I met my teacher Lola Mallein and viniyoga and this was the beginning of an incredible and not at all expected story. After two years of group classes, I started training as a yoga teacher in Claude Maréchal's school, without any professional expectations, being at the time completely fulfilled by my work...

Teach to care

There exists as many forms of yoga as there are yogis. I quickly understood that yoga represented for me a tool to help each and everyone in their path, whether physical, mental or spiritual. For this, I then specialized in yogatherapy following the teachings of Dr Chandrasekaran and Bernard Bouanchaud, then in Ayurveda, traditional Indian medicine, with Alex Duncan. These additional contributions allow me to provide lessons taking the individual as a whole, with an objective: give back to his body all its capacity for self-healing.

Health cannot be limited to the absence of disease. Our body is sometimes without pain but we feel in us a lack of enthusiasm, of joy, of liveliness.

One of the benefits of yoga is to reconnect us to ourselves. Gradually, we give more importance to our physical and emotional feelings. Life then becomes more tasty, fuller.

Yoga classes

It is for this reason that I propose to Grenoble group yoga classes but also individual lessons. Each has its own interests: group classes to discover the practice of yoga and connect with others, individual classes to deepen or explore a specific issue.

For one or the other, I offer lessons in the pedestrian center of Grenoble, in welcoming rooms: the Ecoutille, in Saint Laurent district on the Right Bank and the Espace Jean-Jacques Rousseau just next to the Halls.

Group lessons are limited to ten people, guaranteeing an individualized approach and relationships with other students.

Yoga sessions include all the elements that make up the richness of this multi-millennial discipline: postures, breathing techniques, meditation, relaxation, yoga philosophy.

I also offer in-company classes in order to bring yoga to people who would not necessarily walk through the doors of group classes. Practitioners note significant effects of the practice and in particular more listening and calm between collaborators.

A strong commitment to yoga and its transmission

For a few years now, I have dedicated my whole life to yoga and its transmission through classes in Grenoble but also as content manager for the online yoga platform.Shiksha. I also pass on my knowledge of yogatherapy and individual yoga within the School of Yoga Teachers Sadhana Life Center.

Take care of the living

Since childhood, I have had a very strong connection with the living, with nature. The first form this relationship took was gardening. I was lucky enough to grow up in a house with a big garden and my hands were very often full of dirt (they still are by the way).

I then turned to research and consulting in social sciences around issues of sustainable development and climate change (notably at the University of Grenoble Alpes). My work focused on ways to improve the links between humans and the living, at the level of public policies or business strategies.

In these functions, the seriousness of the situation and of the issues sometimes made me feel what we now call solastalgia and eco-anxiety. It was difficult for me to face every day the strong gap between scientific facts on the state of the environment and the lack of real decision-making.

The practice of yoga made me gradually understand that my place was not on this collective/political scale but more on an individual scale.

I then fully appropriate Gandhi's phrase: "Be the change you want to see in the world". Instead of telling others what to do, I needed to cultivate my garden deep within me to then be able to move society forward on these issues. I realize that this state of anxiety prevents me to be useful and that, on the contrary, I need to develop my joy and my hope in order to develop innovative and desirable proposals.

Scientific evidence is piling up on the strong link between yoga and relationship to the living. I am very happy to contribute on my scale to this question in my teachings but also in the research work that I am pursuing on these links.
